SP488

8ch. audio and video dedicated, high resolution MPEG4 encoding card

The SP488 is a high performance, yet economical compression board. Utilizing high performance encoders, the SP488 can capture and compress 8 channels of video at full D1 resolution. (720 X 480 NTSC; 720 X 576 PAL). It efficiently encodes video in MPEG 4 format, providing high compression with minimum CPU and power consumption. A Pentium IV, 2 GHz computer can easily handle four (4) SP488 boards, providing 32 channels of DVD quality video compression.

The SP 488 has an independent encoder for each channel. This allows continuous control of the each video channel, making it perfectly suited for digital surveillance applications. The SP488 can switch from time lapse / high compression to full frame rate DVD quality in just 20 milliseconds.
